Web 2.0 Style Text

In this tutorial we’re going to show you how to
quickly and easily create some polished “Web 2.0″ style text
that is all the rage these days.

1. Our first step is to create a new image
with which to work, I have decided on a canvas size of 300×300px.
Next, add some text that is large enough for your application using
a font and color of your choice. This sample uses a popular web font
“Arial Rounded MT Bold”, size 30 pt, with anti-aliasing set to “Smooth”.
Color is not important at this point. You should now have something similar
that resembles this:

2. Open the blending options for the layer and set the gradient overlay as follows (acutal colors for gradient are below):

Set the colors for the gradient as follows:

3. Apply “Drop Shadow” settings to the layer as follors:

4. Apply “Stroke” settings to the layer as follows:

5. Voila! Our polished text is revealed!:

Simply adjust the colors defined in your gradient and
stroke to change the coloring of your text. Here I’ve simply added a new
layer, applied the same blending options as above only defining my
color gradient with the colors below.
